Dotsero (amazing amazing, amazing)
Check them out at: http://dotseroband.com/
The band is normally hosted out of one of my favorite jazz clubs downtown Denver http://www.jazzatjacks.com/the-venue.html
The music is powerful and you will love all the guys, but the main performer, the lead sax player is a lot of fun to watch. They always put on a show that will make your insides flutter and move your spirit.
It was certainly one of the beautiful outdoor summer nights Colorado is known for. Since my back is starting to get well enough (note: spinal fusions suck) to make it out and I can tell you it was well worth the night out! Growing up I can’t say I had a flair for this type of music, in fact I always said I Love ALL music but jazz. Then it appears I got old~er, heavy metal is out and jazz moved in. So much so, metal gives me the little ache between my eyes and my head hurt. Now jazz on the other hand has found a way into my heart. It can take you on an emotional ride bringing you highs to lows.
Dotsero was out playing at Orchard Old Towne http://www.theorchardtowncenter.com/events about 20 min outside of Denver in Broomfield, Colorado. They have a free concert in the park series each summer playing a variety of excellent music. The venue is certainly kid friendly (but if you want to have a drinky drink you will have to head to one of the restaurants running along the performance area. There is outdoor seating for the locations but you’ll have to get there early to get a seat. In the main seating area (bring your chairs) and no coolers or alcoholic beverages are allowed (where’s my flask, damn it). 😉
All in all it was an amazing night and these guys are wonderful. If you’d like a nice family night out, make sure to check the schedule for the Orchard Old Towne Center, but if you’d love a beautiful night of jazz in its natural environment, Jazz @ Jacks is the place to go in Denver!
