John Heffron @ Comedy Works, Greenwood Village, Colorado
Another amazing venue just outside of Denver: COMEDY WORKS @ THE LANDMARK
There are so many great things to say about this place, but it all starts with the comics that are hosted at this location. There are two Comedy Works locations, one downtown Denver and this one, @ The Landmark. They have a lot of great shows coming up, so definitely check them out if you are in the area.
All I can say about my evening out this weekend was… what an amazing night. A friend of mine took on the early show after having a pretty decent meal at Lucys. Lucy’s has a choice of fish, steak, and pasta. The food was good, but I can’t say amazing. The drinks were priced well and were also poured appropriately. Lucy’s restaurant is affiliated with the comedy club and the perk of dining there prior to the show is certainly priority seating. While there’s not a bad seat in the house in the club, priory seating places you extremely close to the state. We were 2nd row (practically on stage) and the pricing was $28/person with a 2 item/drink purchase per person at the show.
Another cool thing is that you are allowed to take your drinks from Lucy’s down to the show if you aren’t finished. All in all, the venue is excellent, the talent is amazing, the prices are awesome, and the perk of priority seating calls for a perfect night out! The bar area within the comedy club also has a really nice atmosphere to hang out in before or after the show. I can tell you for all the times I’ve been there, I’ve never been disappointed. Just a bit of a heads though, just so you’re not taken off guard and if it actually matters to you (the audience in this venue is primarily Caucasian).
This particular visit, my friend and I made it out to see the winner of Last Comic Standing, Season 2, and John Heffron. His comedy is focused primarily on the married with children kind of life as well as his growing up. He always finds a way to relate to all crowds. You will laugh from start to finish with John and I can’t wait to see him again!
Another amazing comic I saw at this venue before was John Oliver, political comedian, from the John Stewart Daily Show. He put on a hell of a show. Who knew Brits could be funny? 😉 Just kiddin’.
Alright y’all, if you’re in the area, I hope to see you there!
I wish you all well and Happy Travels!
