Ok people, this is silliness. While I am all about four seasons on a normal, average everyday year, what I am not yet prepared for this year, is that 4 letter word. SNOW. It’s November in Denver, and yes, the mountains are topped as they should be (absolutely gorgeous by the way), but they have officially used that word as of tonight. By tomorrow morning, they have stated, the blizzard will have blown in and we should have a lovely 3-6 inches (7-15 centimeters) on the ground. I’m so not ready!!!
As I typically am a lover of this white, fluffy dust, where you are castle building, snowmen making, and ball throwing, I am going into this season crying like a little girl. As the wonderful world of Denver, we do have one of the coolest things ever, four seasons in the period of a week. This area is known for being summer one day (as is was only a few days ago at 78 degrees F approx. 25 degrees C) down through, fall, fully into winter, and the following day, back into spring. We can have snow one day and it completely melts off and is beautiful by the next. While I normally am not big on the conversation of weather, I do think this is one awesome things about this area of Colorado. It’s one of those places where you can anticipate bringing every level of clothing that you have. So if you are coming from somewhere else from around the world, you have to be prepared, you could walk into summer one day and leave in winter.
So as I lay here, hearing winter knocking at the window (ok howling), but mama nature is about remind us of why this is one of the coolest places to live/visit!
Enjoy all! Happy Travels.
